After two decades executing the vision of Canada’s top restaurants, Chef Deron Engbers was ready to create his own.

Je Fringale is his expression—where refined French gastronomy meets unapologetic intensity. The challenge? Crafting a brand that honored both precision and rebellion.  We built a cohesive identity rooted in his philosophy: a striking name, a flexible design system, and scalable tools for growth. Now, Fringale is dishing it, from fine dining to fiery condiments that give Chef the platform to redefine cuisine on his terms.

Brand Identity

Fringale /fʁɛ̃.ɡal/a Basque word meaning “famished”. We’ve all been there right? You’re so hungry, you just have to eat something. Let Fringale fill that need.

Developing not just a logo but how the brand touchpoints cultivate the environment and style of the culinary flavour we developed menus, posters, packaging and through a series of visuals and copy to bring the whole dish together.

More than a menu the brand lives in store and on our phones so we developed packaging, stamps, posters, label templates, photography standards, and many more materials to ensure chef could always serve up his best dish.

Private Label

Chef had many ideas over the years for products he wanted to launch but one of the first was to bring to life a series of hot sauces that had been refined over the past years. So we crafted the Spicy Mouth Entertainment System. So far consisting of 3 hot sauces the Design and packaging of these sauces are based around nostalgic experiences that set the tongue and heart a blaze.

Born from a chef’s deep love of gaming, blending nostalgic flavors with a design that keeps you coming back for more. We crafted the label as a nod to the original Game Boy’s shape and layout, featuring illustrated artwork reminiscent of classic game compositions.
